The visit to the filter production factory of MANN + HUMMEL, in Ludwigsburg, Germany, was a great success, where 10 owners of commercial vehicle garages from different parts of Greece participated. The trip was organized by the company “G. ALEXOPOULOS SA ” in collaboration with ELECTRA HELLAS S.A., representative of MANN FILTER in Greece.
The visitors had the opportunity to see up close the modern facilities of MANN + HUMMEL and in particular the department dealing with research and development (R&D) as well as to attend a commercial and technical presentation of the company. Great emphasis was placed on the continuous research and development of new products and technologies (such as applications in electric vehicles) as well as on the continuous increase of collaborations with the largest automobile manufacturers of commercial vehicles as a first installation option (OE).
During the training, technical information was provided about the new technological innovations concerning the air, oil, fuel & water trap filters and instructions were given for the correct installation and diagnosis of faults.
The trip of the 10 associates of G. ALEXOPOULOS SA continued the next day with a visit to the largest MERCEDES-BENZ Trucks factory in Wörth, Germany. Launched in 1963, it has now produced, according to the needs of each customer, more than 470 trucks per day which are exported to more than 150 countries. Mercedes-Benz Antos, Arocs, Atego, Econic, Unimog, Zetros are produced here, as well as the most successful truck in the world, Actros. The tour of the factory production facilities was unique and was rightly described by all of us as a “life experience”!
The surprises for our partners did not stop here since the “power” of commercial vehicles was followed by the “speed” of sports cars. What better than a private tour of the Porsche car factory in Stuttgart as well as a visit to its history museum. Words are not enough …!
